I've only read TMR and THG and Divergent but:
If this is like which do you most want to be in I would say THG. HEAR ME OUT. I wouldn't wanna compete in the games nor starve so I would be like some rando from D8 (my district I think) but then help spark the rebellion.
That is the district I chose as mine too, because frankly its job is at least remotely interesting to me in terms of design and art. As for rebellion, I feel I'm definitely a Peeta kind of person, I'd deal with it via negotiation and relations rather than fighting.
I of course wouldn't want to be in the Games, but the possibility would always exist if I lived in that world, it wouldn't depend on me. (Then, in some strange self-insert story of mine, I won the Games in which it was mentioned most people died of freezing, because they froze and I didn't lol. This is even pretty real for me irl).
@EmmyAnimal with your last remark I now picture you somewhat Elsa (Frozen).
I myself would be the first to freeze, since I'm more the summery type.
But to the question:
I'm a Maze Runner. Always have been. I'd be right there in the Maze, one of the Gladers. Should I actually survive the trilogy it would be by sheer luck tho.
...
Which character? Oh. I thought I'd be myself. Just there, among the other Gladers.
But if I'd be one of the characters then Newt. We are very similar.
Maybe because it was the first of those listed I ever read... don't know, I feel kinda at home there.
I can see myself in THG and Divergent too (haven't read the other ones). But still, Maze for me.
Ahah I like this idea!
Frozen is one of the many super popular things I never saw, but I've heard of the quote 'cold never bothered me anyway' and related to it- at least in the literal sense- straightaway. While I generally have a high tolerance to any physical discomfort, cold is very high on that list and my organism is notably better suited for it than other kinds of weather. Even my looks are quite similar to Elsa's except my hair isn't that fair any more.
Right, I forgot about the character question. Among existing ones, probably Johanna as she is the closest to my aptitudes mix, save for Abnegation, but there's the prominent contrast between Amity and Candor, choosing the former, but ultimately refusing some of its decisions.
As myself, I'd be born in Dauntless and choose Amity; since I have three aptitudes, I'd likely face some things Tris did too. I would stay neutral during the war, but help in other ways (wish I knew how exactly, just..just not by hitting or shooting people). I don't guarantee someone wouldn't kill me at some point though.
Divergent: I’d choose Dauntless as a faction.
Eliminating the other options because:
Hunger Games: Is too much of a dystopian, life is too much of an everyday struggle (Unless you live in the capital) you constant love in fear due to the hunger games in case you or a close one is reaped. And I don’t like that kind of poverty and restrictions.
Maze runner: I’ve kind of watched one movie and didn’t like it. Not interested in the books.
Shatter Me: Don’t know it.
Twilight: No. cause it’s literally the same world as ours but with Vampires and werewolves.
And they live in secret, so unless I was turned or eaten, I doubt I’d know about them.
And I’m not too interested in being a twilight vampire- Well maybe, if I could make my existence more worth while than the Cullens did (except Carlisle his existence was substantial) - But I wouldn’t want to live very long which is tough because Twilight vamps are hard to kill.
So that leaves me with Divergent.
Divergent is more of a Utopia and the living conditions are much more bearable in fact the majority of the society are almost thriving. The world isn’t too broken but still needs fixing up in places, which I’d like to be a part of. And it’s just interesting, with their rules and ways ig
Ah yes, I won't be dishonest, if I lived in THG, I would want to live in the Capitol. Because of these obvious reasons Yeahsure mentioned, but also a few unpopular views of mine. Firstly, there's basically no villains from the Capitol in the trilogy except Snow, literally everyone else meant well and/or wanted to help at some point, in some way. They were depicted as shallow and dense, and this was because their government intentionally aimed to make them so, but not as mean and malevolent.
And my second unpopular view is that, while lots of their outfits are too much for me as a whole, I actually like and would wear many details, for each look I'd omit like only one or two elements. I feel that some readers automatically take the stance of hating their style only because they actually don't like their thinking, when irl I bet they like many celebrities with a similar style and advocate being original, eccentric. In any case I'm always against insulting someone on the basis of style, including the Capitol.
So I think dislike is kind of misplaced at the Capitol citizens both when it comes to morals and style, it's their govenrment that had bad intentions and raised them to be so unwise.
Also, from the Capitol I could do the most about bringing a new system.
About Divergent, I think it's a dystopia disguised as a utopia (similarly to Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, and the movie Demolition Man staring Sylvester Stallone that was loosely based on the book). I think this because it's also a socially unhealthy way of living, with a deceptive, controlling intention.
Here's a comparison between this book and 1984, that I feel works great for THG vs Divergent too:
So out of these, I've only read Divergent and THG (the others are all on my list though lol)
For THG - I took several quizzes and got District 12 each time, I obviously wouldn't WANT to get picked for the games, but I might be able to do okay. I'm kind of like Rue, small and fast, so I'd be able to hide.
For Divergent - I would be myself except with a different family and name. I actually came up with a whole new character for myself lol, I'm so obsessed. I would be Dauntless born, Divergent (Dauntless/Erudite), and I would choose Dauntless.
Out of these I've only read Divergent and the Hunger Games. I chose divergent because I'd rather not starve to death and have to fight others for people's entertainment. Divergent is great. I would love to be in Dauntless or just be Divergent. Not sure which character I'd be though.
Clove from the hunger games, we’re very similar in personality
Just popping back to say when I wrote “Love in Fear” I meant “Live in Fear”
Its probz obvi But that typo annoyed me, when I just read what I wrote
What do you think?
