Also pretty sure talk pages are still the default when you create a wiki.I can deny this with first hand evidence. I've created two wikis, and they both have had message walls be the default. This is probably a new thing anyway, so what you said was true at some point
Literally the Hunger Games is the only wiki (that I'm aware of) that has tall pages. Which leaves me to this question. What's the point of talk pages? Yes, you get notified if someone puts something on your page, but if you add to it to reply to them, they don't get notified
