I am Amity and none of this surprises me in the the least freind
This series is poisoning our minds to think we belong to one personality but in reality we are all Divergent. (I'm no hater mind you)
^Agreed! Also with Shadowy Scarecrow.
My friend, a Psycholgy student, upon hearing about the story: Sorting people into factions based on ONE characteristic?! The inner psychologist in me wants to die".
I scored Dauntless and not Divergent. Here's why I didn't score others;
Abnegation: I don't give a damn about other people. I'm a selfish bastard that hogs her chips and doesn't want to share with anyone
Erudite: My grades are so low you would die looking at my reporcards
Amity: The f** is an Amity
Candor: I always steal sh*t and never return it. When someone asks me I blame it on someone else.
I'm Amity, Candor and Abnegation. Yep, it's strange when Amity and Candor argue in my head, but I like to think it ends with being both kind and opinionated. (It actually also ends with being overly emotional about rudeness and expressing it in a rude way, and I'm trying to get rid of that hypocrisy). I eventually slightly leant towards Amity. Abnegation was the easiest for me to rule out since, while I deeply appreciate their original virtue and values, the way they got corrupted bothers me most out of my three aptitudes.
While I don't consider myself as ignorant or cowardly (I do have bunch of other flaws the opposites of which haven't been covered by canon factions), I am not Erudite or Dauntless because knowledge and bravery aren't what I value as a means to achieve peace or something to center my goals around. I simply think they're good things no one is obliged to pursue, I can't possibly make them the most important for me. But I have nothing inherently against those of you who do.
I do agree we're all Divergent, but it's hard to compare with rl as the genetic damage from books doesn't exist. If you don't feel you have virtues of more then one faction, you surely have others that aren't mentioned but would qualify you for other factions if they existed. Besides, I feel aptitude is more about what we want, value than what we (can) do (for example, someone who's ignorant because they haven't had the chance to learn or are simply too lazy to BUT values knowledge and enjoys it when they come accross it would still be Erudite, only wouldn't make it through their rigorous initiation; and so on for each faction). Not to mention I'm sure we can tell our aptitudes a bit better than online tests as long as we're true to ourselves.
I'm Dauntless and Erudite divergent. After much, much deliberation (you'll see some of my early posts had me as an Erudite) I decided on Dauntless.
I'm a Dauntless, Erudite, and Abnegation. I decided to be an Erudite, yet my Dauntless side of me helps me when I need it the most. Like when I walked across a fallen dead tree to cross a river.
