Firstly, I have yet to finish the novels, so I am not up to par with all of the facts. Therefore, I am only going to ask a question that has had me very addled.
Am I the only person who thinks that Dauntless people are truly reckless and, quite frankly, stupid? They claim to be about 'small acts of bravery' but they kick people out who cannot fight.
So that very weak boy who bravely sticks up for his friends against the bullies does not deserve to be in Dauntless? Because he can't fight? That is utter nonsense.
And yes, I do understand that Dauntless do have to defend the country against those (very unknown) 'dangers' out there, beyond the fence. But then they should not be truly called brave, because they are kicking out people who are just as brave as their peers, and are keeping the stronger people.
Have I gone wrong somewhere, or have I somehow managed to understand the concept of Dauntless -- which I highly doubt. Can anyone just clarify why Dauntless will kick (brave) people out because their are physically weak.
