Yes! This was exactly my thought when I first saw Peter, especially in his profile picture. I was really disappointed with how he was cast in the movie. In the book, Peter was described as having smooth, shiny dark hair and round, green eyes. An overall innocent appearance. I did not really get that feeling with the Peter in the movie. For one, he has sort of spiky, messy hair in the movie, and he did not strike me as the innocent type, giving off more of a "bad boy" feel. Personally, I think a better actor to play Peter would be Dane Dehaan. I understand that he is 29, but he has a youthful appearance, as well as cute and innocent if he's presented correctly. I first started thinking he could be a good Peter when I watched The Amazing Spiderman 2 (which was a great movie except for some lines of dialogue). I know he wasn't intended to be innocent in the movie, but there was a scene in the movie when Peter Parker and Harry Osborn meet for the first time after about a decade. Peter Parker (I'm saying his last name to avoid confusion with Peter Hayes, the Peter in Divergent) said something and Harry laughed, and it was in that scene that everything just clicked into place. I think the main quality that got me started in thinking that Dane would make a good Peter was when I saw that his hair was shiny in the dark. A silly detail, but it did get me start thinking.
Miles Teller is probably the best actor to play that role .-.
