  • Hello, hello. I am just here wondering WHY you guys are so against Tobias and Christina being happy together? They are the only two people who could really understand each other for one, second, wouldn't you rather see the characters you read about and bonded with happy with EACH OTHER instead of some randos?  I know most of you guys have this thing for Tobias and I even saw someone say they wanted him to die and be with Tris, but don't you think Tris is HAPPY two of her favorite people found each other? She wouldn't be upset with it. Another thing is Christina did not STEAL Tobias, in We Can Be Mended, TOBIAS KISSED CHRISTINA FIRST. Christina was minding her business about to clean up from the class she taught when TOBIAS starting play fighting with her and KISSED HER first. So, it seems like your fav WANTED this to happen. We all know Tobias was Christina's best friend's boyfriend, but instead of coming for Christina WHO WAS MINDING HER BUSINESS , come for the BOYFRIEND of her best friend who initiated it all. To be fair, Tris DID kill Christina's boyfriend Will in the first book, so TECHNICALLY speaking, Tris owes her a boyfriend. If you have actual logically reasons of why you don't like these two together other than the weak he was her bestfriends boyfriend argument comment so we can discuss !

    • I think most people just enjoyed "Fourtris" and was upset when Tris died because they were now apart. I personally disagree with "Tobina" because at first Tobias hated Christina and now they are together? It didn't make sense in my mind. Anyways, I see your point, they kind of needed eachother in a way. To me, I think I would of preferred Tobias to be alone. ( Kind of sounds mean when you think about it.) Christina and Tobias are just not "Fit for eachother"in my perspective. Just my opinion.

    • I don't know why but Tobina doesn't give me the feels that Fourtris gave me, so for me Tobina is a no-go as I can't see a lovely dovey relationship with them but maybe friendship or a sibling relationship

    • I feel like I understand the point but I don’t want Tobina to happen anyhow. Also, the author brought this upon herself. When the others died, we were sad, but not super sad. But she let us get to know ten very well and so when she just kills off tris... well she probably knew there’d be a lot of hate coming in. Also, I’m not going to read we can be mended and just keep the happy thoughts that Tobias runs in after her, dies, and they live together and happy in heaven. Because I can’t live with anything else. TEN FOREVER!!!!!!!

Yeah why couldn’t t have been that tris is in a coma, or a wheelchair, or something? Or Tobias with tris is heaven? I’m voting with that person⬆️. TEN FOREVER!!!!!!!

    • Tobias and Christina had nothing in common based on the characterizations provided in the book. There was never any attempt to show them becoming friends and Roth really skipped over so much of that in We Can Be Mended. There was no attempt by Roth to resolve the things about the characters that would have allowed us to see them together. They way the story was written, they are together because they both loved Tris, not necessarily because they saw something in each other. In my opinion, I believe it would have been better for Tobias to have Christina as that friend who is always there for him rather than a love interest. Tobias had been betrayed by everyone he loved, his parents, Tris, so I would have preferred to see him have true friends he could count on rather than some new, rushed love interest. Frankly, for me, it all came down to Roth's lack of characterization and, frankly, a lack of ability to truly know her characters. She wanted them together so it didn't matter to her that, from a reader's perspective, she didn't make enough connections to make the relationship plausible. I think that was the biggest flaw in the entire universe; Roth had end goals in mind but not much in the way of a middle so when things began to break down, she just kept going until she got the end she wanted, not the one that was necesarily the most logical.

I totally agree, this is exactly what I was thinking! Why can’t they just be friends not love interests. You stole the words right out of my mouth! I’m totally with you, all the way! FOURTRIS FOREVER
